Driving Accessibility and Assistive Technologies for Persons with Disabilities

The Main Objective

The main objective of the summit is to align the digital use divide through cross-sectional and multi-sectoral action-oriented pathways anchoring on accessibility, Assistive Devices and Digital productivity and digital equity provisions.

The summit specific objectives are to:

  • Assess, redefine and promote digital inclusion and equity for persons with disabilities in Africa.
  • Build synergies between policymakers, legal practitioners, general public and Persons with disabilities to a common digital inclusion pathway of collaboration and partnerships.
  • Create awareness on Digital accessibility standards for digital platforms and documentation etc.
  • Show case various innovations and programs driven towards overcoming digital exclusion for persons with disabilities in Africa.
  • Create Digital opportunities through digital jobs by creating connections, networking and awareness creation.
  • Address Digital skills development pathways, competencies and capacity needed for PwDs to be Digitally and socially included.
  • Address Digital Inclusion Policies and regulatory frameworks for persons with disabilities.
  • Create a technical support ecosystem for persons with disabilities.
  • Address inclusive Digital education and health gaps, opportunities and recommendations.
  • Build capacity of the participants and an opportunity to exhibit products and solutions around Disability Digital inclusion space.

Dear Participants/Speakers,

ZAFOD in partnership with Africa Digital Inclusion Alliance welcome you to Lusaka, Zambia for the Africa Disability Digital Inclusion Summit that will be held from 11th to 13th September 2025 in Mulungushi Conference Center, Lusaka, Zambia.

REGISTRATION FOR PARTICIPANTS 

An online registration link is provided below for the Summit. It is therefore important to fill the registration form. Please note that late registration will attract an additional K540 ($20)

The registration desk will be opened during the Summit daily from 08:00 AM (Central Africa Time) at the venue for the issuance of accreditation and badges. Each participant shall be given a badge for identification purposes during the period of the Summit.

VISA AND IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS 

Visas will be issued in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Zambia: Copy of Passport Data page

Participants are required to hold a passport that is valid for a minimum of six (6) months

The ordinary visa permits the holder to attend the Summit and visit Zambia, for the period stipulated in the visa. You are required to comply with all laws and regulations in force in the territory of Zambia. 

Call for Abstracts

We are calling for abstract on any of the sub-themes of the summit.

The deadline for receipt of abstracts is Thursday 31 July 2025. The abstracts should be submitted to: africaddisumit2025@gmail.com 

The Abstract should clearly state the topic background, objectives, methodology and at least 5 key words. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words. Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent on Thursday 07th August 2025 and full papers will be expected before Friday, 15st August 2025. Those who have already sent their abstracts should not resend.
